Tri-State Relics
Here are a few photos from the backroads of Michigan, Ohio, and Indiana. I like to focus on rust and peeling paint--and on the way they catch the sunlight. I'll be adding more to this gallery soon!

Please don't confuse "relic" with "useless." I'm pretty sure this still works, but I do like the signs of age. (There's a beaten-up gravity wagon over on the Fall 2012 page, too.)
From the Indiana/Michigan Border
This old gas station is one of my favorite places to photograph. Notice the slant of light in the background. There is a photo on the Contact Me page with different lighting, and in black-and-white. There's another pump to the right. I may post some variants of this scene soon.
I return to this scene often. There are small trees growing there now. To see more recent pictures of this scene, visit my Facebook galleries!

I call this one "Closing Hymn." I had heard this church was going to be knocked down, but it has since been restored and hosts weddings! That is great! I really like the way the sunlight plays on the windows in the morning. There are other windows around the corner to the left which really catch the evening sunlight.
