Photos from Spring, 2011
Barns. . .Barns. . .Barns. . .
What can I say. I live in lower Michigan and drive through Northeast Indiana and Northwest Ohio on the way to and from work. There are barns that are falling down, barns that have been taken care of, and barns standing next to houses that have long ago been abandoned.
Here is a farm near West Unity, Ohio, as a storm rolled in this spring. It reminds me a bit of Dust Bowl photos.

I'd like to call this one "Ahab". . .
. . .but I'm not sure what kind of tree it is. At any rate, it's an old tree putting out some blossoms in the spring, an image Ishmael uses to describe the effect of the sea upon Ahab early in their voyage. . .or is it the effect of starting out for his revenge? Hmmm. . .
For several days, I drove by this tree on the way to and from work, and kept thinking, "I need to stop and get a picture of it." Trouble is, it's on a busy state route north of Bryan, Ohio. Seeing the tree budding against the clouds, I checked the mirror. Nobody behind me. I pulled off to the side of the road and got this photo.

Moon
The ever popular moon shot. Taken with the new 55-300mm zoom lens--without a tripod. I love vibration reduction technology!
I may put some photos from the "Supermoon" earlier this year up for sale later. They have foreground. . .

Rainbow of Kayaks
Just a fun picture, taken in Angola, Indiana. How could I resist?
The barn's little brother: The Shed
One of the first photos I took with the new zoom lens, somewhere south of Battle Creek, Michigan.
